Continue to silverste.inOr open ventures.silverste.inTaylor Silverstein was born on 16 August 1999 at Mayday Hospital in Thornton Heath, south London. The hospital is now called Croydon University Hospital. He was raised in Coulsdon, Surrey. In 2014 his family moved to Kent. He lives in Sheerness.
He was involved with Scouts from about 2006 to 2013. During Cubs, he took part in Trooping the Colour between about 2008 and 2012. That was through Cubs and Scouts. It was not military service, and it should not be read as one. In 2012 he attended the London Paralympic Games and remembers watching a men's wheelchair athletics race. He does not currently remember the precise distance or classification, and this page does not invent one.
Silverstein's grandmother worked for Walker Crips Group plc from the early 2000s until about 2015. She would occasionally collect him after school. His day finished at 15:00. Hers finished at 17:30. On a small number of occasions, he estimates somewhere between two and ten visits across his entire childhood, she took him back to the Walker Crips office while he waited for her to finish work. At around ten he remembers sitting in the office, drawing on Post-it notes, and seeing paper documents. Occasionally, when asked, he carried a paper document a short distance to his grandmother's manager. He watched people come and go. He heard terms including stock splits, mergers and reverse mergers. He did not understand the language. The documents were pieces of paper. Years later, after he began investing personally, some of that terminology started to make sense.
Silverstein was never employed by Walker Crips Group plc and held no formal role with the company. He was not an intern, not on work experience, not on a placement, not a trainee and not a contractor. He did not provide financial services or advise anyone. His occasional childhood visits were solely the result of waiting for his grandmother to finish work after school. When he carried a paper document, it was a trivial favour while he waited, not work.
From 2015 until 2022 he volunteered. That ended when the Scope shop in Sheerness, where he volunteered, closed. In 2017 he took a first paid job at a hotel and conference centre. Most of the work was pot-washing. He also cleared glasses and tables, served food, and helped with room food deliveries. In 2019 he began grounds maintenance at an independently owned holiday park. From February 2021 until November 2023 he worked in food manufacturing. These are recorded because they happened, not as a case for anything else.
His interests later moved towards technology, independent digital projects, and investing. He designs websites and takes photographs. Only the photograph on the blog is a photograph of him. He invests his own money. He does not operate an investment fund, manage client money, or give financial advice. He does not work for the companies or platforms named on this website. This site is not a fund, and it is not an invitation to invest.
In April 2024 he began personally investing in publicly traded companies. In July 2024 he made his first private-company investment, backing Blok through its 2024 Crowdcube funding round. He is an investor in that round. He does not work for Blok, and he does not work for Crowdcube. In February 2025 he expanded his private-market activity through Republic Europe, formerly known as Seedrs. He is an investor and a user of the platform. He does not work for Republic Europe. In April 2025 he expanded his private-company investing activity to the United States through StartEngine. He is an investor and a user of the platform. He does not work for StartEngine. The holdings themselves are on the private register.
